ERP conglomerate Infor says that new features in its latest version of Infor ERP Visual enable manufacturers to increasse business efficiencies and productivity by helping users get more relevant data, faster.
Now at v6.5.3, ERP Visual is still aimed at discrete manufacturers SMEs, and now offers improvements across the board – in engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, project management and order processes.
Kevin Piotrowski, director of industry and product marketing in the discrete industries sector at Infor says that many of the enhancements came through customer feedback via Infor365, the company’s online support and community portal.
“Infor’s customers have an active, significant voice in shaping the development of their products. This process is a vital enabler of our ability to deliver new product enhancements,” he says.
The most obvious change is a customisable user interface with audit trails, providing for flexible, role-based, consolidated views of information, with online tracking providing visibility into where and what changes are happening, as they happen.
Specifically in the manufacturing and engineering modules, the focus appears to be on providing better access to more accurate materials, product and WIP data, right out to warehousing. Purchasing managers also get a new module, which creates a configurable workbench showing material shortages, usage and history, and generating POs via drag and drop.
As for project management, the enhancements are around workflow management tools that identify bottlenecks right across manufacturing, purchasing and work orders processes. Piotrowski says they also simplify project creation by reducing the information necessary to start a new project.
