The Institute of Directors (IoD) is to offer its 52,000 members a subscription-based service to a hosted version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (customer relationship management).
Members will pay an exclusive subscription fee, starting at just £35 per-user, per-month, while new members that sign up before the end of June 2008 will receive the first month’s service free.
The IoD says it wanted to enable UK members to have access to an advanced enterprise level CRM system without the risks associated with up-front implementation costs. It also wanted to offer flexibility in terms of adding and removing users – and hence the collaboration with Microsoft.
Says Andrew Main Wilson, chief operating officer for the IoD: “As the business environment becomes ever more competitive, our members need the tools and support to attract new customers while retaining and nurturing their existing ones.
“We already provide a number of business products and services – from car rental to insurance – to our members through carefully selected partnerships, and we’re pleased to add business IT services to this list.”
The new service will be hosted by Microsoft partner Rackspace and managed by IncreaseCRM. The IoD offer includes access to its relationship mapping templates.
Non-members will be able to subscribe to the basic Microsoft CRM 4.0 offering for £45 per user, per month. Hosted Microsoft Exchange Email is also available, at a cost for members of £11.50 per user, per month – non members £13.50 per user, per month.
