Lift and escalator manufacturer Kone is to move all IT infrastructure services to Hewlett-Packard under a new seven-year contract.
HP will consolidate and maintain Kone’s servers and LANs (local area networks), operate its help desks and streamline and unify its desktop computing environments across the company’s global network, which spans 50 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
“Partnering with HP enables us to focus on our core activities and, through the economies of scale provided by a globally operating partner, improve our productivity,” says Juho Malmberg, executive vice president, Development and Information Services, at Kone.
Kone’s biggest IT operations are in Belgium and Finland, where around 100 Kone global IT employees will move to HP. The transition is expected to be finalised by the end of June.
