PepsiCo International has signed a seven-year global services agreement with Hewlett Packard for infrastructure consolidation and data centre management services.
HP is to condense PepsiCo International’s technology infrastructure into three HP data centres in the UK, Mexico and Singapore to support PepsiCo business operations in 60 countries.
It’s all about building a standardised storage and server architecture with improved facilities for application management, network security, disaster recovery, asset management and operations support.
HP says it will provide its Adaptive Infrastructure, with optimisation and virtualisation of the server environment, also creating a solid infrastructure for PepsiCo’s applications, particularly across CRM (customer relationship management) and SCM (supply chain management).
PepsiCo says it chose HP based on its best practices for simplifying and standardising IT infrastructure, its transition methodology, and breadth of services world-wide.
PepsiCo has also chosen BT as its network provider, and expects more opportunities for service integration and innovation through the HP and BT alliance.
