European candles manufacturer Korona has upgraded to the latest version of QAD Enterprise Applications to support the company's expanding output requirements.
Based in Poland, the firm, which produces some nine million candles per day, first implemented QAD in 2001, but driven by a requirement to increase production output, it chose the upgrade path, along with the relatively new QAD .Net user interface to improve operations around everything from sales to purchasing, logistics, manufacturing and finance.
"We're on track to double revenues over the next five years," explains Andrzej Wróbel, vice president, Korona. "We are making large investments in new plants and increasing our warehouse space. QAD enables us to automate and grow our business."
Crucially, Korona implemented QAD Warehousing to address the high production volume and distribution standards required by one of its largest customers. Wróbel says the system, which has automated its warehouse management, also improved shipment accuracy and efficiency – helped by the use of RF (radio frequency) scanner devices for inventory management.
"QAD supports all of our operations, ensuring we have continuity and a streamlined customer service effort," states Mariusz Wicher, IT manager at Korona. "This upgrade has enabled us to realise our resources' full potential and experience a positive impact on our overall business."
Meanwhile, the QAD .Net user interface provides users with a more accessible and interactive solution, he says, as well as workflow integration.
Korona users can now create reports without IT intervention, as well as exchanging QAD and Microsoft Excel data without re-keying, working with built-in, best practice business processes.
