Expanding roles for Microsoft Dynamics was the theme of Microsoft's Convergence 2009 Europe tour, which kicked off in London this week.

"Microsoft Dynamics delivers the value, simplicity, innovation and choice that allow businesses worldwide to endure, prevail and increase their competitiveness during these challenging economic times," said Kirill Tatarinov, corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Solutions, in his keynote address. He also announced that all Microsoft Dynamics products have been certified to run on Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 as of Oct. 22, 2009, the official launch date for Windows 7. Microsoft paraded several customer implementations with strength in the extended business theme. On the green front, Microsoft partner Atrion International was singled out as helping manufacturers reduce risks associated with hazardous materials. Its extension of Microsoft Dynamics handles regulatory compliance throughout product lifecycles in response to legislation such as REACH and GHS. Then on the CRM front, the focus was on its on-demand service updates and CRM Accelerators, as well as the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online offering in North America, now due for launch in international markets in the second half of 2010.
