Bearings manufacturer, NSK Europe, has selected ETI’s package of data integration management products to help create an enterprise-wide integration infrastructure.
Jim Allan, senior project leader at NSK, comments: “We needed an integration product to build an enterprise-wide infrastructure that would enable us to quickly add new applications by interfacing easily with our existing mainframe systems.”
He goes on to point out that, “ETI was the only product of those we evaluated that could handle our complex computing environment, and the only one with extensive mainframe and relational database capabilities.
“NSK has a small IT department, so for us, a hand-coded approach to integration was not an option, we needed a powerful product that could answer all our future integration needs and would not require the additional costs of external consultants and programmers.”
“We are also confident of an excellent return on investment due to the number of projects we are undertaking and the notable cost and timescale benefits of the solution,” he added.
Simon Jennings, vp Northern Europe at ETI, continued: "The ETI Software Solution is well-known for its ability to extract data from any source system and load to any target.”
NSK is currently investing heavily in IT systems and reorganisation of its business. The company has customer relationship management (CRM) software and an advanced planning system (APS) that need to be integrated. And its also working with industry consultants, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, to help it move forward with some of its e-business initiatives.
On top of that, NSK's mainframe systems are also due for an overhaul and a data warehouse implementation is high on the agenda too.
The implementation of the ETI Software Solution is currently underway. ETI consultants have trained all the full-time members of NSK's IT team on the product, and they expect to begin deployment of their first project this month.
