Organic baby food manufacturer Organix has deployed Infor10 Demand Planning software to support its mouth-watering double digit year-on-year growth.
Hazel Lees, supply chain controller at Organix, says that the application, which was delivered on time and under budget, is aimed at improving demand forecast accuracy and hence also service levels and productivity.
It replaces labour-intensive traditional spreadsheet planning, and she expects the software also to reduce inventory and waste.
"We supply some of the biggest names in UK retail and each of those retailers demands a different shelf life," explains Lees.
"So we have a movable feast at the very heart of our supply chain [and] this means we have to be proactive and follow best practice," she continues.
"We have invested in Infor10 Demand Planning as part of a drive to future-proof our demand planning processes, and we anticipate tangible results when it comes to a reduction in inventory and waste, greater productivity and improved service levels."
Critical to the choice of Infor10 Demand Planning, she says, was the software's shelf life functionality, which actively manages the MLOR (minimum life on receipt) of each customer order, so delivering accurate insights into potential waste as well as service levels.
Organix anticipates a reduction of 10—15% in inventory as a result of improved demand forecast accuracy.
