Engineering software specialist Planit is reporting increased interest in its brands, following yesterday's (10 November 2011) demonstrations at last week's Advanced Engineering Exhibition in Birmingham.
The company, which exhibited its Alphacam, Edgecam, Javelin and Radan suites in the Aero Engineering section of the show, says that many visitors to the Composites Engineering section also came to the stand.
Delegates, it says, were specifically looking for demonstrations to prove how Alphacam can improve the performance of machines manufacturing parts from composite materials.
Planit also reports interest from existing users in upgrading to the latest releases of all four of its engineering software brands – with the Javelin production planning and control system securing several upgrade orders at the event.
New functionality in Javelin 2012 R1 includes: greater control over consignment stores, parts marking as obsolete, and automatic stop/start of data capture jobs in real time.
Visitors to the stand also saw demonstrations of Radan's enhanced tagging and additional nesting for common cutting functionality, along with Alphacam's improved 3D machining strategies, further enhancements to its toolpath associativity, and solid viewing support for all modules.
