PPM powers up business integration with Syspro ERP

Swindon electronics and power equipment manufacturer Pulse Power & Measurement (PPM) has chosen a Syspro ERP system, from K3, to bring seamless information management across its design, manufacturing and distribution businesses.

PPM HR director Neil Seager says the new system will replace several disparate systems, and expects it to result in better visibility across the divisions – ultimately improving customer focus and customer service. Core ERP modules chosen include accounts, sales and purchasing and manufacturing, and K3 will also install Microsoft Dynamics CRM as part of the integrated solution. "We recognised that we needed to replace our existing systems with a single, integrated solution," explains Seager. "With Syspro, we will have fast access to important information across both sides of our business, and this will also benefit our customers through our improved focus and service." PPM received a grant from the Southwest Manufacturing Advisory Service, with independent consultancy service FreeConsult helping in the ERP research and selection process. "John Haslam of FreeConsult spent a week with us, getting to know how we worked and what we needed to achieve," explains Seager, who says he then drew up the specification for PPM's new system. "We settled on Syspro as it is clearly designed for design and manufacturing companies, and it provides more features and functionality off-the-shelf than the competitors," comments Seager. PPM also sent delegates to visit K3 customer Godwin Pumps in Cirencester to see Syspro in action, as well as speaking to management at Dudson Group to find out how the system is being used in the manufacture ceramic tableware across its global sites.
