Bathroom fittings manufacturer Samuel Heath & Sons is implementing a new manufacturing, financial and distribution system from K3 Business Technology Group (K3).
The Syspro ERP system is to replace the company's existing Unix technology and, according to Nigel Titley, Samuel Heath's IT manager, will help drive efficiency improvements across manufacturing, distribution and accounts.
Syspro will, he says, integrate with the company's other Microsoft Windows-based software and is expected to provide the firm with a welcome boost in productivity as it cuts administration.
"Syspro will provide all the information we need within a single screen," explains Titley. "This will improve our responsiveness and eliminate the need to extract information from various sources."
He gives the example of customer services, who "will have instant access to all the information they need to deal with our customers' requirements". In fact, they will see detailed customer records and get access to product information, photographs and brochures.
The new ERP system will unify existing back office systems to provide a single, centralised database.
"Implementing Syspro ERP will be a major step forward for Samuel Heath," says Titley.
