Procter & Gamble has signed a five-year, $650 million contract with BT to provide and manage integrated IT services.
The agreement covers P&G’s local and wide area network infrastructure across more than 1,100 locations in 82 countries, and includes migration to high-speed, IP-based global MPLS (multi-protocol label switching). It also includes perimeter security and firewall, conferencing, remote access, voice and IP telephony.
Jim Fortner, director of workplace and infrastructure solutions at P&G expects the managed services approach to cut costs and improve efficiency and control. He also believes users will gain, as a result of standardised, flexible and future-proof communications.
“We are confident that [BT] can bring world class innovation to transform our network and our business,” says Fortner.
