SAP yesterday (28 September 2011) introduced a 'Build and Sell' programme for its partners, aimed at encouraging the spread of highly targeted business analytic applications based on its BusinessObjects software.
Fritz Neumeyer, senior vice president for SAP's so-called volume reseller community, explains that the programme provides the means for SAP partners to market and sell their IP to others throughout the SAP ecosystem.
The goal, he says, is rapid identification and then availability of highly tailored business intelligence applications for distinct industry and functional requirements. That, he insists will be good for the partners, but also good for manufacturing SMEs – with lower costs and faster ROI.
"The new build-and-sell model presents a compelling value proposition for all parties — customers, partners and SAP," states Neumeyer.
He explains that partners that build new applications for their customers will be able to can discover much larger markets. Similarly, other resellers looking to expand into new markets will be able to access affordable, prebuilt applications s via the SAP EcoHub site and the Channel Partner Portal.
"This new approach supports partners in delivering repeatable and sustainable solutions that are quickly deployable for rapid return on investment," says Neumeyer. "The solutions are built upon the power of partners' industry or line-of-business expertise."
