Eleven of SAP's new partners have developed complementary solutions that enhance SAP Business ByDesign, its integrated on-demand SaaS (fotware as a service) system for SMEs.
The solutions come from partners including hybris, Office Depot, Pacejet Logistics and Siemens Enterprise Communications, and cover aspects such as e-commerce, telephony and mobility integration, data exchange for export and commodity catalogue content.
"SAP works closely with a variety of partners to create and integrate complementary innovative solutions for SAP Business ByDesign," comments Doug Merritt, executive vice president, On-Demand Solutions, SAP.
He cites the example of multi-channel commerce vendor hybris, which is now offering a pre-integrated, enterprise-class e-commerce solution for SAP Business ByDesign. This add-on ensures that online sales transactions are automatically synchronised into SAP, while stock availability information in SAP Business can also be accessed in real time during the checkout process.
Meanwhile, US-based Abaco Mobile has developed Abaco Mobile Service for SAP Business ByDesign as a mobile composite that exposes the mobile web service-enabled content. That allows firms to handle, for example, service order management and integrated route planning with external map services, as well as accessing customer contact information.
As for Siemens, the deal here is the first seamless unified communications (UC) integration with SAP Business ByDesign. Its OpenScape for SAP Business ByDesign can unify existing telephony systems (PABX) with SAP while also broadening calling functions and covering click-to-call, presence, one number service, caller ID etc.
