U&M Mineração, a Brazilian engineering, heavy construction and mining contractor, has become the 10,000th SAP All-in-One micro-vertical industry customer.

Its solution was developed by SAP partner Procwork, and the announcement was made at the SAP Latin American Partner Summit, held last week in Panama City. “The signing of our 10,000th SAP All-in-One customer by Procwork demonstrates the momentum we are achieving with midsize companies and small businesses across the Latin American region,” says Luis Murguia, senior vice president, SME, SAP America. He claims that SAP currently counts 24,890 small and midsize customers served by its growing global network of nearly 2,362 qualified partners. U&M says it had been looking for a partner that could provide a technology and process platform to support planned expansion. It says that it selected SAP and Procwork’s Lega Construction solution because they offered the best platform and product, together with the knowledge, customer base and references it needed to see in the engineering and construction sector. “We now have a micro-vertical solution based on SAP ERP and SAP Best Practices, and the platform to adapt and meet new business challenges over time,” says Ricardo Xavier Correia, director of administration and finance, U&M Mineração e Construção. “Working with Procwork, we were able to map out a solution with fixed-scope, predictable implementation that addresses our immediate needs and prepares us to realize our goals for future growth.”
