Seemage takes CAD documentation generation even further

Seemage says that its newly launched Seemage 4.2 contains new features that extend its ability to produce product documentation and service procedures directly from any 3D CAD system.

For example, the software can now automatically regenerate all product documentation whenever a digital product definition changes. Also, by eliminating additional servers and integrating with PLM (product lifecycle management) systems, users can gain access to the system relatively inexpensively. For example, Seemage says that its new ProductGrabber decreases the costs and effort to create and publish product configurations by orders of magnitude. It means that manufacturers can produce unlimited product variations simply by combining Seemage saved configurations. Beyond that, integration with Auto-trol Tech Illustrator now delivers one of the industry’s most comprehensive systems for producing illustrations that comply with important 2D commercial and governmental standards. “Seemage 4.2 is a major step forward in the product’s evolution,” says Eric Piccuezzu, executive vice president and co-founder of the company. “Unlike competitive server-based solutions, our open XML-based architecture provides desktop productivity without forcing complex IT infrastructure.”
