Shepherd Neame selects Sterling for e-business infrastructure

Kent-based brewery and pub operator Shepherd Neame says it’s looking for supply chain efficiencies from its choice of Sterling Commerce to provide management, support and delivery of its B2B infrastructure.

Using the company’s managed services, Shepherd Neame will get improved real-time visibility and control over its order management processes and other interactions with retail customers. Sterling commerce says it will integrate into Shepherd Neame’s existing ERP systems, and take responsibility for the delivery and management of its B2B infrastructure to free up the family-run company’s internal resources. The company is also going to deploy Sterling Commerce’s web tracking tool to facilitate business process analysis, identifying and correcting document errors, auditing any changes in the process and loading electronic documents back, without disruption. Says Jonathan Neame, chief executive at Shepherd Neame: “Sterling Commerce Managed Services … will provide the level of control we would expect of an in-house solution, but at a lower total cost of ownership and with the support of [its] expertise in business process management.”
