1.4 million IT professionals who are part of the Spiceworks social business network can now activate and manage Google Apps for Business and Rackspace Cloud Servers through the site.
Scott Abel, co-founder and CEO of Spiceworks, explains that the new cloud services management features – available in the latest beta release at 5.1 – will make it easier for IT people to access and manage these services in the same way as they manage existing technology.
"Whether you have laptops in your office or cloud servers in the sky, IT professionals need a simple way to manage and buy the technology their employees and businesses depend on," he insists.
"By offering technology from Google and Rackspace, we're taking a big step forward to make this happen for the 1.4 million IT pros who rely on Spiceworks for everything IT," says Abel.
Google Apps for Business Management allows users to view and manage Google Apps for Business, including Gmail, all from within Spiceworks. Also, users can upgrade from Google Apps to Google Apps for Business and buy additional accounts through Spiceworks.
Meanwhile, with Rackspace Cloud Server and Hosted E-mail Management, users can now provision and administer the servers through Spiceworks.
