TRW Aeronautical Systems has just been named one of the 10 most significant e-procurement implementations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by independent analyst Aberdeen Group in its report ‘Best Practices in e-Procurement in EMEA’.
Aberdeen’s deposition notes that, TRW was an early adopter of e-procurement technologies from Izodia and that it “stands out for the depth and breadth of the implementation, embracing collaborative technologies that allow it to apply the benefits to be gained from e-Procurement technologies throughout its supply chain.”
Frances Howarth, Aberdeen’s research director for e-business, goes on to say that TRW Aeronautical Systems has demonstrated “a compelling ROI (return on investment) case and implementation strategy, making for a world-class best practice implementation.”
Indeed, the firm says that despite still being in the first year of full rollout, those modules and project teams that are live with the technology are already seeing up to 30% reduction in the costs and services placed through bid events. TRW also cites more than 2% payroll reduction and at least 1.5% reduction in stock levels.
Izodia’s UK managing director Jim Kirkwood adds, “TRW’s implementation is an example of the power of e-commerce in adding value to both customers and suppliers. We feel privileged to play such a pivotal role in the development and delivery of TRW’s vision for the aerospace industry.”
