Wipro partners SAP for mobile manufacturing execution

The firm has launched Wipro m-eXecute, which allows SAP's Manufacturing Execution 6.0 solution to run in stripped down format on iPhone and iPad. Other platforms will be added in later releases, according to Wipro. "Wipro m-eXecute is based on two principles – faster decision making and timely execution of transactions," comments NS Bala, senior vice president and global head -manufacturing & hi-tech, Wipro Technologies. "We have found that these are the two most important objectives for any manufacturer. We are happy to launch the app in partnership with SAP and have designed it to enable collaborative decision making across the manufacturing value chain," he adds. Industries such as hi-tech, automotive and semiconductor manufacturing are most likely to go for the new mobile MES app. "Wipro m-eXecute provides extended value to our customers by enabling mobile access to the shop floor user," explains Mike Lackey, vice president of manufacturing solutions with SAP.
