Daido Metal pilot project moves onto Phase Two

Automotive parts manufacturer Daido Metal Czech (DMC) has moved onto Phase Two of its Infor ERP LN implementation for manufacturing and planning at its new manufacturing facility in Brno, Czech Republic.

The system, which is the pilot for the whole group, will cover everything from logistics and finance management to supply chain collaboration. Currently, the system is running production, but functionality for asset management and outbound reporting is now being added. Following that, the implementation will include enterprise resource manufacturing and planning support. DMC says it is already helping to streamline and control processes, as well as introducing effective communications between its business partners and Daido Metal’s European headquarters. The system was implemented by Infor’s local partner company, Gemma Systems, along with Daido’s Japanese system integrator, Hitachi. Modules selected included: procurement, warehouse management, sales and financial management and processes. Daido says it went for Infor ERP LN because of the company’s global deployment capability, with worldwide Infor offices and partners, and the system’s multi-language support. It also cites Infor’s specific manufacturing support and ability to handle batch process management, EDI and barcoding. “We faced a difficult challenge – to go live with logistics and finance management within one quarter,” explains Tetsuro Nishiyama, general manager of DMC. “We succeeded thanks to enormous personal performance, professional attitude and responsibility of my colleagues, as well as deep domain expertise of the Gemma Systems consulting team and the support of the parent company in Japan.” Gemma Systems has developed detailed implementation documents for Hitachi that are designed to streamline the rollout in other DM group facilities.
