Filtronic Broadband accelerates acquisition integration with Infor

Telecommunication component manufacturer Filtronic Broadband has increased its investment in Infor ERP Business (SyteLine), following its acquisition of Isotek, in a bid to boost productivity and help reduce manufacturing costs.

Dave Barry, IT manager at Filtronic Broadband, explains that the organisation chose to extend Infor ERP Business, because of success already achieved with the system at its headquarters, and the fact that it needed a solution to work across sites in the UK and US. "Following our acquisition of Isotek it was clear we needed to implement an ERP system across the expanded business as quickly as possible," says Barry. "We had already seen a solid set of benefits from Infor ERP Business and, with such confidence in the application, it made clear sense to extend our footprint," he continues. "The expanded system is currently in the early stages of use, and we anticipate that we will see some real benefits, in terms of time saved and reduced inventory costs, alongside more consistent reporting." Barry believes Infor ERP Business will standardise and accelerate inventory processes between the companies and then help identify and reduce the cost of materials across manufacturing operations. By housing a master database of all parts, with consistent item numbers across both UK and US sites, Infor ERP Business will, he suggests, help speed up processes and eliminate excess stock where duplicate parts have hitherto been held under different codes. Future plans include the rolling out of Infor ERP Business to manufacturing sites in China.
