Variel selects Infor ERP SyteLine to slash costs

Czech metal, plastics and fiberglass manufacturer Variel has chosen Infor ERP SyteLine to improve productivity and process efficiency, and to streamline its manufacturing.

Variel, which has been in business for over 40 years, expects to reduce inventory by up to 50% and substantially improve on-time delivery performance. The implementation will be completed by ITeuro, a local Infor implementation partner. Roman Výborný, CEO of Variel, says that the company intends to deploy Infor ERP SyteLine software across most business areas, including financial management, planning, procurement, sales and manufacturing. He explains that the existing system had become insufficient to support growing business requirements. He also says that it was preserving old ways of management and lacked the necessary tools for continuous improvement. Hence the time and material waste, problems in meeting promised delivery dates, and inadequate productivity and profitability. Variel, he says, now expects a 20—50% reduction in inventory costs and improved customer service, particularly as a result of SyteLine's advanced planning and scheduling (APS) module and its access to real-time data. "The market situation and customer requirements are rapidly changing these days, so we were looking for a proven, easy to implement software solution to provide more flexibility," says Výborný. "Infor ERP SyteLine's capabilities, in combination with the ITeuro expertise, will provide us with strong support for streamlining our manufacturing processes. We expect to significantly increase profitability as a result of increasing our operational effectiveness and better serving our customers."
