Honeywell and Zebra launch global mobile computing alliance

Honeywell and Zebra Technologies have announced a global partnership to deliver seamless mobile computing, scanning and printing.

"Zebra's brand recognition throughout the [automatic identification systems] marketplace and its position as a global market leader make it a perfect strategic partner, as we build out our product offerings," comments John Waldron, vice president of worldwide marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. Waldron explains that, having integrated both Hand Held Product and Metrologic, the company has turned its attention to growth, which it sees as being achieved by working with serious industry players, such as Zebra. Paul Cullinane, director of global accounts and alliances at Zebra Technologies, adds that the alliance allows both companies to harness each others' technology and sales networks across industries and regions. He expects that process to result in greater depth and breadth of product offerings, and to lead to further potential areas for expansion, citing access security as one likely contender. "For many years, Honeywell and Zebra have worked together in the healthcare industry," comments Cullinane. "We are extending that relationship to take advantage of the complementary nature of our products … and global presence to provide our customers and resellers with best-in-class solutions," he adds.
