Gas containment specialist Norris Cylinder reports that implementing Infor10 ERP Business (formerly SyteLine) has had the desired effect of improving visibility and communication throughout the company.
According to Steve Carver, Norris Cylinder IT manager, because it is more accessible and user-friendly, the ERP solution is enabling easier data sharing, which, in turn, is leading to better inventory updates and order tracking – and reducing the time previously spent searching for data.
"Our customer base is comprised of distributors who typically order varying quantities of our product, so anticipating demand and knowing what inventory to stock has always been one of our biggest business challenges," explains Carver.
The system is also facilitating faster communications and better information sharing between Norris Cylinder and its parent organisation TriMas, he adds.
Next up, the company plans to use the system's advanced planning and forecasting software engine.
"We plan to build on our existing ERP system to gain increased insight into customer needs, to better anticipate sales and inventory usage so that we can fill orders faster and have the right parts when they're needed," states Carver.
