Sandwiches manufacturer Uniq Prepared Foods of Northampton has now successfully commissioned its £450,000 Tropos ERP software from Solarsoft Business Systems.
Darren Atkinson, supply chain manager at Uniq, says the implementation will renovate stock management, modernise quality control, reduce waste and labour and streamline reporting processes – providing ROI within three years.
Solarsoft is already being used at Uniq's dessert plants in Devon and Shropshire – and another evaluation led to the same result – this time to cover warehouse management of inbound and outbound stock, purchase management, quality control and financial management.
"Tropos is a powerful and flexible ERP system that is already widely used in the UK food and drinks industries," explains Atkinson. "The software has been developed for regulated, short-cycle demand-driven process manufacturers so it has all of the specialist functionality that we were looking for and it is also very user-friendly."
And he adds: "The reporting functionality will save us a great deal of time and money by providing one version of the truth to all 1,000 staff across the organisation. The new ERP system enables those in the warehouse, the technical team, the finance team and the business planners, access to real-time visibility of information."
Atkinson says the organisation is expecting to save in a wide range of areas, citing waste, labour and streamlines reports production.
